File Actions

There is an Actions button on each file in the queue (assuming that it isn’t being converted yet) that shows a menu with additional actions you can perform with the file. At the top of the menu, you can find some commands for moving the file to a different group. Note that you can also use drag and drop.

Splitting

You can split the file into several smaller ones. This can be done either using chapters (if the file has them), using an “external file”, or by manually defining sections of the file. Supported “external files” are either .cue or .edl files, or Downie’s .json metadata file. When you select such file, you are presented with a dialog where you can review the chapters and fine-tune them if necessary.

Track Export

Permute allows you to export individual tracks out of the file. This includes video, audio and subtitles. Note that not all formats (mainly subtitles) are supported.

Combining Audio and Image

You can combine an image and an audio file into a video. This action presents you with a confirmation dialog that also allows you to specify other files from within the same group for this to be applied to as well.

Export Pages from PDF

This action allows you to export a PDF into individual pages as images.

Metadata Editor

This option opens a metadata editor that allows you to edit metadata of the file. The changes can both be applied to the original file as well as the result of the conversion.
